Why do YOU play more than four?

I play a seven because I aspire to tap a high melody or chords while tapping a low bass line.
Or to develop a chord structure without using a guitar.
I can also do expanded polychords and wide inversions.

ERB.
A maximal instrument for those who want to play the maximum.
And maybe a bit more!

My bass is a 5-string, primarily because I prefer tight string spacing (15mm currently), and because I just didn't like the aesthetics of the 4-string variant of my chosen bass (Ibanez AGB205) quite as much. I enjoy having a 5th string, but whether I have a low B or a high C depends more on the strings I'm using than playstyle or preference.
