Why does everyone love AMPEG so much?

My desert island bass is the Fender Precision and the Ampeg SVT circuit was made to amplify the Precision ... think about it ... they came out with the SVT in 1969 and probably began R&D work on it in 1968. What was the undisputed heavyweight champion rock bass of the world at that time? ... the Fender Precision, of course. You can bet that as they developed the SVT which was to be the ultimate rock bass amp, that they optimized it to sound good with the most popular rock bass of the day. This is why the Precision and the SVT are just like bread & buttah.

Honestly I'm just hoping for more redhead pictures. That SVT was hot.

It is Friday, right?

Happy Friday!

Funny...all weekend long I heard my bass plain as day using Ampegs. I get that it isn't for everyone, but that's just plain wack to think you can't hear yourself in a mix using them. Oh well, I guess when the PF500 owns 10% of the year's bass amp market share, you're bound to find a few people upset that their favorite brand isn't the best seller ;)

I have to agree with Nysbob. I might not be totally happy with my tone through my Ampeg, but I do not get lost in a mix.

While I do not own an Ampeg, yet, I use some emulation on band rehearsals, and I usually our reathm guitar will ask me to turn down my volume when I use the SVT module on Amplitube, as my "Ampeg" is killing his guitar in the mix. I guess that my Geddy through my "Ampeg" is too much for him.... In addition I play with a pick. :)
I really want a real Ampeg!
