Why does this look so weird?

Looks like an 83 Elite P-Bass to me if the serial number is
right on that headstock. Anybody out there with first hand
knowledge on the Elite series P-Basses?

The Elites had dual Precision pickups with white covers and the standard Precision body, not the redesign shown here.

I'm thinking that an 80's neck ended up on the body of a....you guessed it....Precision Plus.

Yeah, that has a that deep cut on the low horn...doesn't look too hot...but then it's a P bass.

So some of you guys are saying that Fender made a 22 fret neck that didn't go on that bass? I did not know that.
