Why is my cabinet farting?

That's the best way to decide whether the problem is in the amp or the cab.

If possible, bring the cab with you to try with a different head.

After this quick test, you'll know where the problem lies.

UPDATE: I took my bass and the BK 600 to the local music store and plugged in to an Ampeg 1x15 and it sounded like a dream. So, the problem was definitely with the cabinet.

Just a word of caution to any of you out there ordering from Musicians Friend; you do get what you pay for. Stay away from the B-stock and blemished items. The upside is that they do pay returned shipping and I talked customer service into paying me back for the initial shipping charge. So, my net loss was toting the cab home from work and a little undo frustration. The good news is that I think I will be buying the cab locally that I tried out.
