Never mind that I should be working. Never mind that I swore off Indonesian basses. Never mind that I have a self imposed 5 bass limit and now have 6.

I have been gassing for regular old P or PJ. The closest thing I have is a G&L Tribute SB-2. I have been casually searching for a used USA G&L LB-100 but haven't found one yet thats ticks all the right boxes for me (color, cost, condition).

I really like my Lakland Skyline DJ4 and I like the sound demos of the 44-64, so it seems like a valid option. But what color...

It reminds me of a quote from my profession:
"There are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things. -- Phil Karlton"

Except maybe 11/8 time and picking a color.

Picking a color CAN be difficult because you are typically fighting with your internal thoughts and perspectives. Please keep in mind that you can ALWAYS change the color of the pickguard. I would focus on the body wood color 1st. Thoughts like these can flow through:

"I don't want it to look like that other local bass player's bass!"
"I want something different than what I have."
"I don't want that color because so & so plays it."
"I hate that body color, but the combination looks so good with the pickguard!"

I recently decided to refinish one of my Spector Euro 5's to a translucent green. Green is my favorite color, I can achieve the shade of green I want, I don't hate it, and it's different than the others. I won't overthink it from here. Good luck to you.

For me, picking colors is difficult because up to a point, I am fairly deeply unattached to visual aesthetic. I just don't have a strong opinion, and when it gets turned into a choice like this where I get one chance, I become afraid that I'll screw it up and make the wrong choice because I don't have a strong impulse/guide.
