In my messages, there is an American flag on my avatar in the last message I posted. Can I turn that feature off? I've never seen it before and would like to remove it.

Why is there a flag on my avatar in the messages?

On a practical note, moving to another country is extremely non-trivial, especially as you get older.

There's a flag, or an ISP, a MAC address, any number of ways one can be identified posting online content. I don't find it bothersome at all.
Clarifying question for the mods…
If I list my location in international waters, can I rock a pirate flag, take FF payments in the classifieds, and stop paying taxes?

Personally, if something my country was doing something that I didn't like and I didn't agree with, my first response would be to try to positively change the said actions, not run away to another country.

The only statements I've made are that the flag is a symbol of nationality and citizenship, NOT of one's political beliefs, that I was surprised by the vehemence of objection to the flag additions to avatars in PMs, and that it doesn't make sense to me that one would continue to reside in a place they weren't proud of. How is any of that blatantly political or even slightly incendiary?
I am not "butthurt." I am, once again, disgusted by how uncivil and rude human beings can be.

Excellent, and my thoughts exactly. One of the first things I wrote in this thread was that every country is flawed. Acknowledging that and working to improve should be something we all always do. Having said that, I DO understand the desire for privacy, respect it, and go to great lengths to protect mine. Perhaps I, too, am guilty of reading more into some of the earlier posts objecting to the placement of the flags in PMs, but the most vocal objectors seemed to indicate issues with their home countries rather than a simple privacy issue. I'm pretty sure that my confirmation that I'm an American here, publicly, won't go too far towards compromising my family's privacy.
Thought about jumping in to the water, but have not had all my shots yet...and the only answer is cherry pie.
Your weird phrasing of your opinion aside, this will backfire and TB will be liable when it fails and a user loses money.

I just got back from the pharmacy to get medicine, I been saying it ever since, but where I am, no one got political, no one got annoyed, people doing their jobs, working hard, some hating their job my fatbutt enjoying mcdonalds afterwards... in person, in real life no one cared because it was just the daily life of my town. Everyone has their own life and struggles.
For all of those on all sides getting worked up, are we making a giant change? Respectfully all we are doing is letting people take sides, I really doubt anyone has change their mind, I'm guessing you all are older, retire, or just have some free time. Go to GC try a bass, get some coffee, no matter the times maybe look into a new sport hobby, I like Kendo, I'm getting into golf it's super fun, don't judge someone too soon, the polarization personally really scares me and it is making alot of everyday people quiet. I see points on both sides but the generalizing of people, then mind games get play to hurl insults, then also people are making random statements to fuel to fire isn't a good thing to me.
The flags have been removed, however how you view it fine, I mean this the kindest way but we are just one single person on this website out of the billions on this planet, millions in the USA if you are in the states. I think the fighting is done alot by a loud vocal minority... just enjoy life its too short to be fighting on a bass forum over something. Get some Eclairs...

It's completely backwards now. Lately I've been spending more time in the FB groups. There's nobody jumping on "the new guy/girl" for asking a question that's already been asked before more than once, etc..., etc..Man, you should look at most of the bass groups on Facebook ... or hell, FB in general
. . . at least that's how it is from what I've seen so far in the two groups I'm in . . . IMO, IME, YMMV
