Why Modern Music Is Awful

Ummm, there were a lot of "awful" music back in the 50s and 60s too. He mentions The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Kinks, Bob Dylan which were like the cream of the cream of music back then and then compares it to Justin Bieber, Spears, Ga Ga which is not necessarily the cream of the cream of music today.

I'm not gonna waste any time mentioning "awful" bands from the 50s and 60s and etc but there were plenty of them and they were very successful.

One person's awful music is another's favorite music. Let's be nice! "To each his own."

And, the video..................TL;DW By the way, the guy's English accent? Obviously, East Liverpool, Ohio. (Yes, there is!)

Nothing wrong with modern music. There is some serious problems with people who think they are music critics. STFU
Wow, tactful, aren’t we? So, what’s your vested interest in this debate? Own a publishing company? Member of NARAS? Member of the ‘let’s dumb down the population’ cabal? Are you Katy Perry’s dad? Please do cite some shining examples of superior mainstream, lowest common denominator modern pop, I’m curious.

OK............one more. You're favorite and mine too, The Knack.

There used to be these companies that made records. To get a record made, you had to impress someone, and (generally, not always) the people you had to impress had some idea of what good music was. Hence, most of the crappy musicians (and some of the good ones) never got their music to the public (other than playing at the local VFW hall). Now, with a computer (which are ridiculously cheap - used to be you had to be IBM to have one) and a few minutes, you're on Youtube. So, there's lot more widely available crappy music. But there is, undoubtedly also more good music available today, as there's more folks making music. You just have to know how to wade through the flood of manure to find it.

I don't have a vested interest. I am 70 years old and a music lover. Dark Horse, It's All About That Bass, Shake It Off, anything by Adele, What Does the Fox Say, Seven Nation Army, anything by Satriani, Fallin', Smooth, and Believe. There are many more but you would actually have to listen to modern music to find them.
