Fender/Squier (I'll combine those since Ibanez has lower end in their lineup) is about 2.5x as popular as Ibanez, Ibanez about 2x Gibson/Epiphone and EBMM, but I don't have stats for SBMM. (Data based on Reverb numbers, so they're ballpark but should be reasonably close.)
Yep, that matches what I said, and makes sense about the rest.

Fender and ibanez (I'm including squier in fender) are the two most popular brands of bass I've seen used.

We agree! :)

Here's the chart I made if you're interested. Not scientifically valid, but good enough for a ballpark:

Was referring to your Steiny listed in your profile.
So? Still my best 4 string and saw about 1500 gigs in it's first 10 years and the best and most consistent instrument I've ever owned. It's a far more advanced design that any of Leo's stuff. A Koenigsegg compared to a flathead.

No one even commented on it when I played it.

should I show some pics of lawsuit basses?
Not really necessary as I used to trade in them in the early 00's. Probably owned a hundred and the fit and finish was consistently better than any of the USA fenders I've owned and the Ric clone better than factory Rics.

You always post exactly what I'm thinking. Ibanez might not be the bass "most" players end up with, but I think far more than half of us own at least one at some point.

My first bass was an Ibanez. A red Destroyer!

Those Destroyers actually have really nice necks. I have one on an 80s parts bass

BTW, if we're both thinking the same thing most of the time, that just means we're both nucking futs! :roflmao:
