There aren't enough hours in the day for me to enumerate the reasons I love The Who.
People look at me funny though, when I tell them that Tommy is my least favorite Who album. You see, to me, any band without Keith Moon isn't the (bloody) Who, now is it? No offense to Kenny Jones or Zak Starkey (who are tremendously talented drummers in their own rights), of course.
What does Keith Moon's death have to do with you not liking Tommy? Keith Moon recorded Tommy.
Whenever I say Tommy is my least favorite Who album, someone always asks "but what about Face Dances or It's Hard?" That's when I tell them I don't consider those Who albums, due to the lack of Moon-ness. Make sense?
Nobody got it!.Then after the tragedy of 911, and the Concert for NY? I got buried in "Now I see what you meant!!"
...You mean nobody ever asks you if you think "Endless Wire" is the worst? That's a shock...
I don't think anyone else considers that a Who album, either.
