I'm looking to start my 6th or 7th pedalboard. Probably should sell the others that are just sitting around. They have universal guitar / bass appeal, so should be a quick sell on Craigslist.

For a while I thought I was set with three basses.I have been sitting around letting some extra money coming my way burn a hole in my pockets thinking about what I can buy, and now I am thinking why? I could use a fretless upgrade, but I don’t need one. I certainly do not need another fretted bass. Why do I always want something else?
Somewhere along the way, “enough” became “more” and it all went downhill from there.I have been sitting around letting some extra money coming my way burn a hole in my pockets thinking about what I can buy, and now I am thinking why? So much this. I am what you might call overeducated, but for all that exercising of the intellect I still can't resist the allure of marketing and thrill of novelty, even though I think I know better. As a society, we're constantly bombarded with advertising telling us we need something that we really don't need. On top of that, people are not really the rational creatures we like to believe we are.
Even though we’ve evolved technologically, socially we are still primitive. We still need status and power. We don’t gather goats and wives but we still measure our worth by what we have rather than who we are.As a society, we're constantly bombarded with advertising telling us we need something that we really don't need. Because you haven't reached a point in life where you want to wear your mojo into some favored basses?I have been sitting around letting some extra money coming my way burn a hole in my pockets thinking about what I can buy, and now I am thinking why? Capitalism thrives on desire and abhors contentment. Look at razors. Remember when there was only one blade? Then they came out with two, and truth be told, it was a smoother shave. When they introduced the three-blade razor, I started to feel like a mark. Now some have six blades and look like cheese graters but don't shave any closer, but you know ...Somewhere along the way, “enough” became “more” and it all went downhill from there.
Yeah, those financial planners will prefer you spend your money on their ice-water than a new J bassPerhaps a talk with a financial planner might help you sort out these see-saw feelings about buying any more gear that you don't need. They are really good at throwing some ice-cold water (read: reality) on things to give you a perspective. Trust me, I know.
Maybe you simply desire to play your best for the Lord during Sunday service?I have been sitting around letting some extra money coming my way burn a hole in my pockets thinking about what I can buy, and now I am thinking why? I just put some tenor strings on my Fodera Standard, Im not really using that bass for much so its like a cheap way to find new life! I got a 6 string set of DR Black Beauties and used the high 4 and I must say, those are really nice strings. The black look is cool, and the coating feels really nice.I have been sitting around letting some extra money coming my way burn a hole in my pockets thinking about what I can buy, and now I am thinking why?
