Wow. I now own this bass and stoked that I actually can see the process of her creation. Have gigged with it 2 times already. Singer-Songwriter Kristi Hinds here in ABQ. Jazz singer and she does some Joni Mitchell covers, we did Hissing of Summer Lawns and Carrie, so this is the proper bass to use in a duo, Has a nice solo tone but I struggle on the high frets as that heel is extra thick but no worries, it is only a couple of notes :D. After trying out many basses to this gig, she prefers this one and I do too. And will always have this and with the upright. I will sure be playing until thanksgiving this year.

The B string sound is massive, beats the 36 inch scale Japanese Tune BEB-6 I have and that one can hang or beat out Dingwalls in the B string department. Widest bass I have played. The Nordstrand pickups are also curved and longer than their usual 5 string Big Splits and true 20mm spacing on the pole pieces. Sweet solo sound and in this gig I solo a lot and do a lot of double stops and chord work and I was worried it would be too hard but not really. The neck is easy to move around. The TI flats are still there but I replaced them with La Bella DTF White tapes because I want a brighter sound and those are as bright as some nickel round wounds. TI flats were moved to another bass and still sound good 7 years later. The fret markers are fine but are really hard to see, so it may as well be unlined but that is not an issue for me. I am upright player after all and playing an unlined fretless since 1987. The other bass in the pic has 19mm spacing, so this is indeed a wide bass

The finish has lightened up a bit and the figuring has popped out more. Ebony lightened some/ So from the plains it went to the east coast and now here in the high desert. I am calling her Geraldine unless Matt had a name in mind. Will record some clips.
