Wilco…bass player?

Haha, I love them both! And I think Lesh was very musical, not a guy to play “out of key.” But to each his own! 😎

I'm in a Dead cover band, and I completely agree. In fact, in several tracks, he never goes outside the main scale at all. He was incredibly musical, and one of the best ever IMO. (I'm not a Deadhead, but I absolutely love playing their stuff. Nothing like it.)

I haven't listened to much Wilco in a long time, but they're a great band and I always thought the bass playing seemed very tasteful. In late 2023 one of my bands covered a Wilco track, "Muzzle of Bees," and I thought the bass part complemented the song well.
