Will I somehow regret this move?

I had a bunch of gift cards to GC so I used them toward a brand new Warwick Rock Bass Corvette $$ Double Buck 5 string (made in China) for $899. The Bass is great and sounds great but I recently found a used Warwick Thumb bolt-on 5 string (made in Germany) with original gigbag in great condition at a nearby GC for $1099 and had them put it on hold. Is there any way I'll regret returning my Rock Bass and picking up the Thumb for a few hunj more?

Here's the thing: I haven't played the Thumb. I'm from NJ and the Thumb is at a GC in PA, which is in driving distance, but it's rather have it shipped for $25 than spend much more in time/gas.

I'm assuming that the Thumb can only be better than the Rock Bass.

The thumb bolt on has horrible neck dive. I bought one new about 10 years ago, it was a very cool sounding bass but horrible to play standing up. Unfortunately while I was trying it out I was sitting down. I tried everything short of re-drilling the strap button to help with no avail. It was so much of a struggle I ended up trading it for a mesa 400+ and have been much happier since. The build quality was great though.

German 'Wicks bought new do indeed have "pi$$ poor resale."
I've seen many a Thumb (selling new for $2500) sold for sub-$1000.

That's true. I suppose I should have been more specific.

The Warwick bass made in China bought new for $899 will depreciate more, percentage wise, than the German made Warwick bass bought new for $1,099. Also, after the initial depreciation, the German-made bass may rise in value over time. The Chinese bass almost certainly won't.

It's a no brainer - GET THE THUMB!!
