Will I somehow regret this move?

GC online has used inventory of every store in the US. Did you look there? You might be able to find one for cheaper. Stuff can be returned to your local GC.
That's how I found the Warwick Thumb in PA.

I closed the deal today and only had to add $187 to the deal. Truly a no-brainer as long as everything works out.
 
w00t! Way to go on the thumb!

I remember being in 6th or 7th grade. I was mostly self-taught at that point, and knew almost nothing about different basses. My friend had a fretless thumb with blue strings. I remember being amazed by it, easily one of the coolest looking basses I had ever seen up to that point. To this day, the dark brown wood and blue strings remains one of my favorite looks for any bass.
