Or you could actually bring an amp bigger than a bread box to the gig and get it off the floor.

Maybe just bring one 12 and place it right next to the drummer or find the sweet spot between the drummer and you where it sounds good to both of you.

I can't find the impedence of the revsound cab, so if it's a 4-ohm cab then it's a NO, using that cab paired with the 1x12 will take the amp below its minimum impedance capability.

Assuming it's an 8-ohm cab though, if you're using the BB800, you're taking chances with the 1x8. The BB800 is very powerful and at max power it would be sending 400 watts to it. The revsound website says the cab is rated for 175 watts, so it's pretty easy to blow the speaker in the revsound. I wouldn't be as concerned if it was rated for something like 375 watts, but 175 is too far off for me to be comfortable.

Yes, the 1x8 is way in the danger zone at 175 watts and pushing the wattage up to what you wanted to do. I sometimes mix and match, but my cabs are rated a higher. Still, I like to be careful.

It’s too bad Quilter 800 doesn’t have the impedance switch on the back to dampen the watts a bit like on some amps. Mine does on my amp but I won’t shamelessly plug it here on your thread. @agedhorse gave me good advice on this technique. Oops ! I let the cat out of bag.

I've never heard of a drummer who doesn't want to hear the bass.

And shame on any bassist who's so concerned about an easy load-in that he neglects the others who need to hear bass.

That is just a volume knob, if that setting range is loud enough for the gig than yes.
They are doing what the last sentence says, adding a cab for "more".
What we are balancing here is not overpowering the 8 inch cab, which is a very fine line once the band kicks in.

Since there is another 12 as an option, lets go with what we know will not end up in damage and provide a stress free gig for the player.

The RS8 is an ohm cabinet. If you are using a HPF, and I do not know if the Quilter employs one or has and adjustable proprietary I would not be as concerned. If your drummers ears are not in great shape that's a concern period.

I love the Revsound cab. I use it with a Warwick Gnome amp for solo practice, and for rehearsals when the drummer only brings a snare. Easy to haul, and it’s amazing the volume and quality of the sound it puts out! Might as well not risk it for this purpose since I have another apparently more suitable choice.

This situation is on him; what I would suggest is to have him obtain/bring an amp of his own liking(or if you have a small combo and would be gracious enough to bring it), run a line out from your main amp(or employ a signal splitter before both)and send it to his amp, acting as a monitor. Physical placement and volume where he needs it, plus he can adjust it.
