Will this hole cause me any issues?

I bought a body for a parts build I plan on doing, but when I got it in the mail and there’s a hole already drilled in the neck pocket that is bigger than a regular neck screw hole and doesn’t line up with where one of the screws will be, but it seems kind of close.

Just wanted to be sure it shouldn’t cause any issues before I start to apply a finish to it, figured I’d ask the experts.

Curious, where'd you get it from? At first I would assume it was a registration hole for a cnc fixture as well. But if you zoom in, along the bottom of the pocket, you can see the faint outline of a bit that bobbled a little as it cut, which is definitely not characteristic of a cnc machined body. Maybe it was cut on a pin router and that hole was a fixture registration hole for the template.

I got it from a Reverb shop. it’s a cheap body so I figured I’d take a chance on it. The pictures on Reverb don’t show any holes, which is why I had a concern. I plan on using a Warmoth neck with the standard 4 hole pattern. Just wasn’t sure how close the top right hole would be to that hole.

It’s not likely to cause a problem where it is but if it’s proximity to the other hole concerns you you could always plug it with a dowel before proceeding with the build.

If it’s not going to cause me problems then I probably won’t fill it. I wonder if they drilled a hole out to guarantee the 4lb weight lol.

Damn! ... good eye! o_O
Yeah... no way a CNC cut that . Unless somebody "leaned" on the body during the final pass or sumthin.
Besides....if you're designing a registration hole in your file/program. Why would you place it off-center like that?
Things that make you go 'hmmmm"?
Yeah no big deal. Carry on.

Kinda looks like it was meant to be a Micro tilt.
