Winter Build Off 2018- The sketchy nebulous bass.

Got the initial carve done. Lots is sanding to do yet of course.

Held it between the wings. Looks more like an instrument at least

Got the holes in the headstock. Did a bunch of clean up and gluing the wings on now.

Yesterday started well but went downhill later. The lower wing slipped south a little, not a big deal. I glued the maple top on but I was short on glue, thought I had more but no.... SO instead of wiping it all off I clamped it up anyway.. it'll be fine.. Or not. Predictably unhappy with the result, I blame the 20 degree temperature plunge during the day yesterday for freezing my brain. I'll go into recovery mode after sufficient coffee to see what I can do. No pics as it's embarrassing lol.

So it looks like the bridge needs to be just a little toward the bass side.

Might as well Rout the pickup holes next.

Of course I got a little tear out on the spalt between the P pickups. This is a good time for a mock up.

So it's not like I don't have enough to do, I was considering going with an F hole just because there's a big enough chamber under there.

What the heck, I just went for it.
Sketchy F Hole done.. well, little more sanding there. And of course trying to get the bigger pieces out of the hole. Kinda like losing a pick in an arch top. Got the dreaded battery box done too.

Sanding, sanding, sanding... Wouldn't be so bad but it's got to happen in the walk-in deep freeze known as the garage.

Anybody have a favorite method of cleaning up the wing-to-neck joint?
