Winter build off 2019 - Fenderbird VI

Kinda makes you want to go surfin' don't it?
Actually going for more of a classic convertible T-Bird than a Chevy, but close enough
Still working on this at a relaxed pace...
One of the ideas I had that would have been left behind, fret marker treatment: the turquoise markers are set in thin-walled aluminum tubing:

Routed out the 1/8" channels for the aluminum trim, leveled, bondo-ed re-applied a bit of z-poxy and masked the channels. Ready for a new white base-coat.
Stop right there, that looks really slick just like that! Just reassemble.
Filing this for future reference/vamping on the theme 
I stumbled upon this thinking it would be done, no such luck 
I'm leaning towards a 'bird body for my VI conversion and I was hoping to see it complete, or at least a full mock up. I'm going to be lazy and order a body from ebay.

Gotta love that Agua Marine color!
My next bass will have that & perhaps a surf board theme - Fun stuff!

Been a while, I know, but here's a little update: Repainted and one trim piece installed:
Second trim piece, still needs to be trimmed down but here's the overall look:
Need to clean up the paint a bit, but I'm liking how the trim is looking.
