Love that color, cool build. Is the colorcoat water base? Looking for something like that for a P refin project with Varathane.

The pic is from an Amazon listing, it is 7" in length, don't know how that would layout on the bass but it just needs 2 holes to install

Oh, that color is Createx Opaque Aqua over a white base coat. The last two coats had about 14% white mixed in. The color was mixed 50/50 with Varathane WB. Createx also makes a urethane base additive that looks a lot like Varathane

They're both really cool. Because it's a contest I'd say whichever you'll be able to complete fully without any rough edges so to speak. Although because it is a contest judged by bassists the VI might not have as much appeal...

Naw, I had the same thought, also based on view count, the VI might not be the best option.

Needless to say, this won't make the deadline; the work will continue at a leisurely pace; There were a few features that were going to be dropped, such as a bound fretboard, a special treatment on the fret markers, etc. I may now go ahead with the aluminum trim on the raised section, etc.
