Specs:
Body: Laminated padauk with maple centre stringer and purpleheart stripes
Neck: Fretless 1 piece roasted walnut with purpleheart fingerboard and nut. Padauk/maple veneer headstock cap and back.
Neck/Body Join: bolt on
Scale Length: 34”
Fingerboard Radius: 20”
Strings: some kind of flats, probably chromes
Pickups: EMG 40 DC under custom cover/ramp (walnut with purpleheart cap)
Electronics: EMG active
Controls: Volume/Tone
Knobs: to be determined
Bridge: Sung Il BB105
Tuners: GB7 knockoffs
Finish: Epoxy sealcoat with Minwax wipe on poly
How the theme applies to my build:
I bought this incomplete bass project impulsively when scrolling (get it?) through local ads and the price was right. It was apparently built to this point intentionally and purchased this way with the owner planning to take it to the end. He completed another project like it but decided to part with this one instead. Since it needed completion and is an interesting curiosity that I can’t imagine myself building, I decided to finish it off, while also changing a few things to give it a new lease on life. It will hopefully be comfortable when it’s complete. I plan to keep this as my main fretless when it’s done, but as with many things these days… we’ll see.

With my "shop" still not complete, I needed to be able to do much less scratch building, hence the assembly choice. That said, I've done myself in anyway with all the planned modifications to this thing. Looks like I'll still be freezing my butt off routing in my unheated shed. But I do have a spare room that I can use for many aspects of the build, so I'm going to do my best. 
My son was like "that girl hates her nurse now". 
I worked late christmas eve and then yesterday was a writeoff with all the usual shenanigans. I was going to tackle it this morning, but I awoke to find our water line has frozen solid. 
On-call plumbers are like "huh, don't know what to do about that" and other versions of "I made the mistake of agreeing to take the on-call cell over the holidays and now I don't want to respond to any calls no matter how easy because it's colder outside than it's been in years". One guy actually said "well, suppliers are closed, so I don't know where I'd get some temp pex line". Seriously? You're a plumber with 6 trucks on the road. Try any of them, there will be a 900' roll in each one!
