What's happening with the cherry burst jazz bass?
Thanks! Unfortunately, the jazz bass has been on the back-burner along with a bunch of other projects (including the fretless). When my wife broke her ankle, my free time basically vanished as I was in Caretaker mode + managing all sorts of kids' activities on my own. Now that she's recovering and largely back to normal, I'm finally able to chip away at everything that has been on my to-do list. I'm hoping to get the cherry bass finally finished up in the next couple of weeks if all goes according to plan!
More progress today. The red burst jazz bass is buffed and ready for electronics and hardware.
Parts are here and we are about ready to get the red jazz bass over the finish line…
Funny you should say that, I tried it with black and it didn't make the top look nearly as alive.
The only bummer is that the pickup blades are steel! Maybe Carey can make me a set of gold plated ones (my anal retentiveness is on full display here!)
