I'd highly recommend the electrosocket jack holder. Far superior the the football plate, and a tidier instal (IMHO)Got the hole drilled for the jack, and also the strap pins. Think that's about it for the body apart from a control cavity cover. And a lot of sanding.

Think I'm gonna use this so called football style jack plate. Looks more like a rugby ball than a football to me.

Yeah, so useful!@Flying B - that vise is to die for!
Seconded! However, if you use right-angle cables, they can be a problem. Check out the Rutters Cup. Same idea, but the dish is shallower, so all right-angle cables work.I'd highly recommend the electrosocket jack holder. Far superior the the football plate, and a tidier instal (IMHO)

Yeah that looks nice. $27 though!!!Seconded! However, if you use right-angle cables, they can be a problem. Check out the Rutters Cup. Same idea, but the dish is shallower, so all right-angle cables work.
Yeah, you're not wrong. It takes a particular level of commitment to the Electrosocket vibe and the right-angle cable to justify.Yeah that looks nice. $27 though!!!
Thanks!I am just now catching up on this thread. I want to go and like every single picture, but I figure instead of doing that, I’ll just post and say how great it is looking! Really nice work so far!
Thanks, yes I lined it up both ways and the other way just looked wrong.Nice. I like the choice of keeping the cover grain running the same direction as the body grain instead of parallel to the long direction of the cover.
Happy shinto shaping!!Belly carve done. 10 minutes with the Shinto.

Also spent about an hour sanding. Might be able to get some lacquer on it next week.
