Winter Build off - Mash Up - Get Ready

Not exactly.... it is a piece to the puzzle that is my bridge. I liked that it had the look of a cover and intended to use it as such before, but that didn’t provide the space and certain adjustabilities for intonation. It also stands a little more proud than I would like. But, it being a hardware store item it checks the boxes. I got a rounder one as well just in case but I feel this will do it. Now I need to find some dominoes....

I got my tuners today, they look great, the inserts that hold the strings don't have the best finish, but they'll probably be ok. These came from Brazil and were about $100 cheaper than the Mera tuners I used on my last headless. I think these do it the right way though, with the ball end at the bottom and a clamp at the top. Making something that both clamps and moves is a tall order. The Mera ones worked out fine, but I broke/cut a few strings before figuring out the right length and tension. There's a certain amount of fear in Paypaling $250 to Ukraine (for the Mera) and $150 to Brazil for these. Thankfully neither were scams, I tried to vet them out the best I could, but you never know. They fit perfectly into the space I drew into my design, GAME ON!

I planned to anchor it with at least three additional screws at the back. There will be 4 string holes with the heads outside of course. Drilled low by the flange. The original plan was for a thick brass one with a wider flange around it. I may have to revert to that.

Yay! So glad to see new entrants in the headless hardware market! Are those adjustable for string spacing?
