I dig this design. It's got a Thompson scroll, a Warwick cutaway, and the back half is very Ric. I never would have thought to combine those design elements but it looks really cool. How sharp/rounded are those body contours gonna be?

Thanks, while I guess I can see all those in this design, it's literally the bottom of a Kubiki Factor mashed with the top of a CT (although I added a contour on the bass side bout). The edge contour will be similar to the one these CT basses, and I see a mistake in my contour lines, but something like this:

I got my tuners today, they look great, the inserts that hold the strings don't have the best finish, but they'll probably be ok. These came from Brazil and were about $100 cheaper than the Mera tuners I used on my last headless. I think these do it the right way though, with the ball end at the bottom and a clamp at the top. Making something that both clamps and moves is a tall order. The Mera ones worked out fine, but I broke/cut a few strings before figuring out the right length and tension. There's a certain amount of fear in Paypaling $250 to Ukraine (for the Mera) and $150 to Brazil for these. Thankfully neither were scams, I tried to vet them out the best I could, but you never know. I ordered that from Brazil, I got three shipping notifications while it was in Brazil, then radio silence for 3 weeks while it made it's way from the border to me. I was going to make a five string regardless of the build off. Ok the defense rests.

I've finally picked out and ordered pickups for build 2, and I've ordered hardware for builds 3 and 4.

I also decided what necks I wanted to use.

2 tele necks from Guitar Fetish and a short and long scale from Rondo Music. I had earmarked them all for other projects but decided that I need to save money where I can if I'm going to complete all 4 of these. I'm going to refinish the short scale and probably switch the onlays to something blockier.

Is that going to be painted on or is it the way you are going to laminate the body together?

Got what should be the last order of parts until the challenge is underway. Tuners for build 3 & 4, and pickups for build 2.

These pickups are interesting, they are designed for 3 and 4 string cigar box guitars and they are under a 1/4" thick.

I haven't decided how I'm going to mount them, I can make a new cover and kind them side by side like a quad coil, or I can mount them with the included covers like a big P Bass pickup.
