Potentially these with a custom Yamaha bb style trim ring. Run like p pickups but with the poles aligned with the strings.
Been looking at McMaster Carr to find some material for the matching Pickguard and headstock cover. Wanting something that looks like vintage heavy fabric fiberglass. Anybody have any other ideas?
Home Depot shows I can order some sheets and have it delivered to the local store. That is an option for sure. It even comes in multiple colors!!!!

You can get thatLink Removed at marine stores and do the real fiberglass/resin job.
Or there's the vinyl wrap that looks like carbon, but that may end up looking a bit much like "Fast and Furious".

Just remember to wear a good quality face mask when you sand fiberglass, its carcinogenic
So I think I've got the body figured out, except for the f hole. Not sure whether I like the comet or the teardrop better. The pickguard and neck pocket need a little more work as well. I think I'd rather have a one piece pickguard instead of the guard/plate combo.
Maybe a sharp edge on the f-hole using the line from the pickguard? Kinda like the surfcaster?
Working on headstock design and figuring out string spacing for build 2 and 3.

That's a good idea, I'll have to mock one up. Positioning will be key since I'm planning on doing an SG style carve along the body.
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. It's taking forever for the start date to get here! :-D
Found a lefty bass at the pawn shop for 65 bucks. Kramer Focus 420s. I think that will be my contributing source for my neck. Since I have to reshape the headstock and add on anyway it gives me an option for reverse too. I’ll try and draw it tonight.

1. It's not winter here.
2. If I wait til Dec 22, I'm moving house and it won't be finished by March 20. I have a month to do it in reality.
So, @Scoops, could I receive special dispensation to start early and do it in downunder summer?
