Precisely what I'm hoping for.![]()
For real!
I do want to make a specific comment here, since this thread is out in the wild, versus being back in Luthier's Corner.
The whole point of these buildoffs (from my perspective at least) is to share knowledge and get people interested in building. It's absolutely not a "here's a bunch of established builders showing off what they can do" kind of thing, it's more about the community spirit. Personally, my favorite part of the buildoffs we have here is seeing people show up with new ideas. I love seeing the creativity and diversity.
People who aren't Luthier's Corner regulars may see the voting threads, but honestly, to me at least, voting is almost an afterthought. It's the actual building and talking about building that's fun. Seeing how other people solve a problem, seeing how other people approach design, things like that. The process is amazing, enjoyable, educational, and fun. It's almost sad when everyone finishes and the voting threads go up!
It's cool to see reactions of the outside world in terms of voting, but I really hope that those of you who aren't Luthier's Corner regulars will consider diving in and participating in a future build off, or at least hanging out and following along in the threads!
