Body: 3 Piece Sapele body blank
Neck: 3 piece laminated Mahogany / Purpleheart with maple veneer accent stripes, 2x2 Headstock, Pau-Ferro fingerboard with tort binding.
Neck/Body Join: bolt on
Scale Length: 32.5”
Fingerboard Radius: 14”
Strings: TBD
Pickups: SD Quarter Pounder PBass pickup and Bill Lawrence EB-50PB Humbucker
Electronics: Passive + onboard effects processor (Electrosmith Daisy)
Controls: Volume/Tone + Effects controls, 5-way rotary pickup selector.
Knobs: to be determined
Bridge: Hipshot Kickass
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralights
Finish: Varathane Ultimate Waterbase Polyurethane with tints/Createx paint (TBD)

How the theme applies to my build:
Many years ago, Electra made the MPC Outlaw bass, discontinued some time in the 80's. The MPC line featured built in effects that could be swapped out via plug-in modules:

A couple of drawbacks to this approach: only two effects could be used at any given time, each module only had one control on the front, so adjusting other parameters required opening up the back to twiddle the corresponding knob. I've decided to address this issue by using an Electrosmith Daisy as an effects processor, and use a bluetooth MIDI interface to do parameter adjustment and effects selection. I'm making a few other adjustments to the design: bolt-on neck, 32.5" scale and changing the bridge.

I have a strong skillset in precisely this area.

What he should really know is that there is no problem with doing dual, triple or quadruple builds as there is always downtime on any build with glue drying, jig and template making, etc, so there is zero chance that this WBO entry will create any delays to the super important 7 stringer of doom. I actually really want to see that thing finished as it's looking awesome already! I'm just also interesting in this entry as it has some cool stuff going on.

He needs to do both. This bass build is going to be amazing. I'm not too worried about when the 7 gets done. The journey of it is just as fun as the finished product.
