Winter Buildoff 2022 - Outlaw Reborn

I've been thinking a bit about the effects that I'm going to include and how to organize them; I'm thinking that I'll keep the concept of slots for the various effects, using the two toggle switches for in/out and maybe a third toggle to true-bypass the whole effects processor.

As for the effects I'm thinking of, I'm looking at the following:
Effects that were in the original modules:
Overdrive
Phase Shifter
Flanger
Octave Divider

New effects:
Bit Crusher
Chorus
Pitch Shifter (octave up)
Envelope Follower

Maybe this is a bridge too far for the 3 month window, but that last post just gave me a flashback to mid 80's computer technology that might be worth copying.

Imagine:
  1. The body of the bass has several expansion ports with standard mechanical mounting slots
  2. Each effect fits an expansion port / slot
  3. You could make as many effects as you want, provided that each fit the standard port, slots and dimensions
  4. Users could hot-swap effects, all purchased through approved channels
  5. You apply a "modest" mark-up to each effect
  6. You pay me a immodest royalty for the "Groggy-slot" concept
You're welcome, as soon as the royalty payments start rushing in.

The effects are all implemented in software, so not really necessary. I guess I could use micro SDHC cards for each effect :roflmao: (which would really be overkill) Don't go spending those royalty checks yet. :smug:

Why not get a Helix Stomp and attach it on an angled bracket from the lower bout? Very 80's I think like some of the Roland stuff.
Who do you think I am? Mark Mothersbaugh?

Ooo, ooo, and a key-tar across the lower bout!
Me likey. Should put it to a vote.
The completed demo track could then be Cars by Gary Numan. He wrote it on a bass.
I can hear the song in my head, but I'm seeing this... with strings.

If you do build that, maybe you'll get lucky and your younger brother will come along, feel sorry for you, and give you a career. :smug:

Too funny. I saw him perform years ago and he seemed OK, but that was the first time I saw Victor play, and had zero idea who he was, so my attention was on him. They were just the next act at Byron and I was waiting for the one after them.
