the speakon connectors on the rear have internal LED lights. They glow Green when the socket is available for a 4 ohm cab, amber for an 8 ohm and red for "dont plug anything into me or you'll take me under 4 ohms and see magic smoke".

Where's the Ashdown Retroglide they were posting pics of earlier? They launched a new Rootmaster 800 and the B Social practice amp thing, worst name yet for an Ashdown product by the way, but I don't see the Retroglide they were showing with the graphic EQ.

The Retroglide, ABM EVO IV and Toneman ranges should all be announced over the next few days. There are already so details up of Thomman and DV247 for the new ABMs and Retroglide

The focus of this NAMM show seems to be more about instruments and pedals than amps.

I see that Fender is offering a US made Geddy bass that looks interesting.

Yup, the ABM is upgrading to EVO IV with a 9 band EQ in place of the 7 band on the EVO III and the valve drive has apparantly had a bit of an upgrade

You just named a bunch of tube amps. Most of whose design dictates it's layout. (Although I'd argue that too)

I don't know why it's impossible to make something rackmount sized and look vintage. Or better yet lunchbox size.

Hell the GB Streamliner has the same number of smallsignal tubes and it doesn't need a 4x10 to not hang off the edge of.

Engineering for the eyes is not engineering. It's interior decoration.

True, but the Fender has far more controls and presumably a lot more flexibility.

The main reason that I, and many others chose the STM series was for it's simplicity. When I'm in a dimly lit stage, less is more for me.
