Wireless advice

Hiya guys

Thinking of treating myself to a wireless system for my bass for christmas.
i've read a couple of other threaads, but they are from a few years back, so I thought i'd start again.

What is everyones opinion of wireless systems?
Is there any sound loss for basses?

And can anyone recommend a decent rackmount system?
Not that worried about price. But I dont wanna loose any sound from my bass or my pedals.

Cheers guys!

Thats by Line 6 isnt it?
is it actually any good?
No signal loss, or loss of sound etc?

One thing i did notice is that most seem to have a pack that sits on your guitar strap.
My guitarist uses one that plugs into his jack plug on the guitar, so clipping onto the strap.
Do they not do them anymore?

Ok. So X2 sounds good.
Now it seems that these arent sold anywhere on the internet in the UK!
Cant find a single one.

So i'll go round the local shops, and if they dont got none, maybe an import from america?

Sigh.

Hi in the UK it is the Relay G30 from line 6 not available in the U.S. i believe yet. This unit address all the problems that previous Line 6 tranceiver systems were thought to have had. I have used one through the summer and it is one of the best for the money. I have had flawless results so far and so long as this continues i will use it. I had an issue with the pack on my strap when first using it, but when i understood that the pack will adjust to allow the lead from it( which is a standard 1/4 " jack) to approach from the sides or top or bottom it became an even more user friendly.

Yeah i seen the G60. But it isnt rack mounted.

Just went to one of the shops on the list and they looked at me blankly.
"At least £300" he said.
The X2 is under £150 if i get it from the US!

i need a UK website!

Is it possible that an employee doesn't know what they're talking about?

I don't know how it is across the pond, but I've gone into a 10,000 square foot Sam Ash music store and asked to try out an envelope filter, only to be told the entire department had no idea what one was.

When I said, "Like a Q-Tron" they pulled one out. :rollno:

IMO get the X2 if you are just gonna use it for local round town gigs. It'll be ok for that. Be prepared to repair or replace the cable often with heavy use. If you are going to be using it on larger stages or around a lot of other wireless buy a Sennheiser G3 or better. The X2's sound awesome but they are not built well and I've had a lot of reliability issues out of all 3 of their models. I was hoping the rack version would be better and it has somewhat but I really wish I woulda just sprung for the G3...Just my 2 cents!

I ordered a G30 from Sam Ash here in the US a week and a half ago. They said they should be in and shipping in 2-3 weeks. The listing was pulled from their website the day before I ordered but they were able to pull up the product and give me an order number. $269.99 with a $30 discount, no tax or shipping. This unit has good reviews and works on 2.4 gHz.
