Wireless Problems

i couldn't care less about any of that tech stuff. i have never ever had a microwave oven screw my wireless, i have never had a passive bass sound weak with one, i have never had a problem finding an open frequency on a wireless except for one time we played at the cnn building in atlanta...i imagine it was interference from wirelesses on the news shows.

i go to shows and hear bands using wirelesses, i hear recordings of bands playing live using wirelesses for everything from the guitars to the vocals, and you know what? they sound pretty damn good to me.

bottom line...if it bothers you, don't use one. but it doesn't bother me in the least, and i know tons of musicians who aren't bothered by them, either. there are way more important issues that can screw with your sound.

Way more important issues. I find that the risk of tripping over my wire (which I used to do constantly) is far outweighed by a generally-considered-to-be-indecipherable degredation in sound. I have two batteries in the bass, now one in the wireless. Not a big deal.

I still don't get this "degradation" talk. These units go down to 20hz all the way up to 20k or more. The thing is very obviously (to both me and my guitarist) clearer and brighter due to the fact there is no resistance from a cable length of even 20ft. Forget how dulling a range equivalent 100-300ft cable would be.

I love the wireless will never replace cables statement, thats why everyone walks around with wired headsets on the phones and a long cable attached to their laptops,
The digital wireless systems are just starting to take off and as soon as more companies cop on and go digital the more advances we'l get,
Also i find that when playing in a theater where i get interference through my pickups (using a cable straight into a D.I) I just use my G30 and bam no interference!!!
I will never go back to cables and I find that it has a better frequency response through my Thunderfunk/Accugroove setup and I have used other wireless system that were just shite But JUST GO DIGITAL

I had the chance to use the Line6 G50 this morning at an outdoor gig. Man, I loved it!
Background: The stage size-24x16 was out in a parking lot, I walked out to FOH board which was only about 40-50' away and it performed flawlessly (it better at that range). HUGE difference from my Sennheiser Ew100 G2 (analog). I could have been just as happy with the G30 but I just had to have the G50 (you know how GAS goes). Tone was KILLER-all my low end and highs, no delay, no interference, sturdy, compact and EASY to use! Hell, I can't find anything wrong with it. I did a lot of reading reviews on the Relay AND X2/XDS series' and the Relay won out hands down (for me). I can't say anything about the X2/XDS series but I believe it's all the same technology so I'm sure they deliver your tone just as well. I'm very pleased with it, well worth the money IMO. I missed being cord-free and I'm stoked over the G50!
Line 6 delivered on this one!!!

Passive Lakland DJ4 and either Aggie DB750 or Markbass F500. Now that I've gigged with it a while, one thing I'd change is to have the transmitter cord a little longer so the transmitter is higher up on my strap. I believe I read some TB users modding and or replacing it, which is what I'll do. One of the ears is a little loose on the receiver so if it's placed on something vibrating (such as an amp!) the ear will droop. As far as performance....no flaws IME. I'm MORE than totally pleased the this unit!

So does anyone have any experience with the Line 6 G50 used with active basses? I play a Modulus with an 18vlot preamp, just wonder ing if there is any difference.

18v pre with G30 and no difference here between any other of my basses active or passive
