After my wife commented how much better my first homemade bass sounded in comparison to my Tobias Growler, she can't hold me back from building my next one(s).

My Much Better Half picked out a "Barely Used" Music Man S.U.B. Sterling for me as a gift because she knew I didn't have one but would never get a full-on model as it's not *my* tone... but she knew I wanted to have something approximating one in my collection. She chose it because of the unique finish that she dug, not knowing it was the rare "Cinnamon" finish that was the last S.U.B. finish sprayed before they halted production and that mine is 1 out of only 100.
To a point, she's down with my basses and likes the vast majority of them.![]()
YOU sir, are a very lucky guy!!! I was told by a girl once that she hated my bass because it was like "the other woman".
You probably shouldn't have slept with it when she was away.
That's always a dead giveaway.
I Randy Jackson can, so can I dammit!!!![]()
Haha, I hadn't heard that about him.
I like him better now.
But only a little.
hmm.the closest thing i could come up with was that my ex last year told me that my thunderbird was heavy as a mofo. that's about it.
I just asked my 9 year old daughter, who is a drummer, which bass she liked. Her response: "The one that isn't louder then my drums. You are way too loud Daddy."
Crap.![]()

hahaha that is so cute!
good thing she doesn't know about mic'ing the drums yet![]()
