Women-only forum

There’s unfortunately far, far too few female members to support a subforum- it would simply be a ghost town. What you’re welcome to do is start a thread for the subject- it would be best placed in Miscellaneous so you could discuss any variety of topics. Moderating the thread will take extra work, so we’d just ask that you report any trolling posts to us when you see them.

Agreed with this. I feel like it's own forum would be dead, and almost unwarranted, but a thread would be fine. P&W have one, LGBT have one, I'm sure there's more. I'm not opposed to thread by and for women to talk about things if they want. As Bryan said I'm sure it would get the occasional troll posts, but they can be easily dealt with by banning them from replying to the thread.

I belong to a very popular mountain-biking forum. By and large, the MTB community has turned its back on the macho boyz-club days of yore, but nevertheless, there is a subforum for women, and there aren’t any problems. Men don’t feel the need to “crash the party,” nobody is concerned that there’s a women’s subforum but no men’s subforum, the sun continues to set in the West and rise the next day in the East.

If and when the numbers of women members rises to justify a subforum, my prediction is that it will work without creating any friction or problems.
