A question for Alan/Skelf: what are the options for putting the EQ01 in a Fender Jazz Bass?

I understand that the output jack would need to be on the edge of the instrument, but besides that, would an EQ01 fit in the cavity of a Jazz Bass?

I don't think it would fit in a standard Jazz cavity, honestly. There are four stacked pots and three 2-3" long (more or less) circuit boards. Have a look at the installation diagrams at [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] , particularly page 2.

As for 8- or 10-coil pickups I just checked and I can fit the coils in EMG covers too. Only about 5mm deeper but the same size otherwise.

There is a 02 plate version for jazz basses which is a special order. It fits a Jazz without any mods.

I disagree. This thread is filled with posters interested in purchasing, and for every poster there's a few who've read the thread, want the finished product, and simply haven't posted in the thread (like myself, until now).

There is a demand. Otherwise a four year old thread wouldn't get bumped constantly seeking updates and asking for waiting list positions.

Well put! Personally, although there are several people on here offering various options/alternatives, I will continue waiting until David has finished his pups and pre and make multiple purchases of both. We've been patient thus far, just a little longer gentlemen.

I ve been here for only a month & a half , saw it only lately , the only alternatives are MPU & SGD for the pickups , & ACG & Alembic for the preamps . So we don t have much choice , so we have to wait for MPU & SGD , but these are for up now , will change later on .

The real Wal pickup has a spacing of 18.64mm. My plan was to push that out to 19mm, as that seems to fit more basses.

I have plans for 4 and 5 string pickups at first. I have to make a custom car for a 6 string, unless I put it in a 5 string MM case, which is probably doable.

No need for buffer. Work just fine passive.
