I've avoided the Sire hype for a few years now, but I picked one up to try out at Guitar Center and was blown away. It was a 5-string though, and they don't like me, so I ordered this one from Sweetwater. Fit-n-finish is fantastic, sound is KILLER, neck is amazing, and price is under 1K. What the heck is not to like!

This one has no discernable neck dive and isn't very heavy.

And a switch! What the heck kinda newfangled electronics they got in them there Sire basses?!?!

Haha I had the same thing when I started getting into Sire Basses. They have a killer preamp in them! not only is it super versatile but sounds great!
to make things simple, the last three knobs are high > Mid/Mid freq > Bass. And the mini switch is passive/active

Also, if you didn't know this...
If there's one type of candy you love, you can actually shoot your rep a message and they'll note it in your customer notes. You can't choose flavors, but you can choose types of candy. I said 'Laffy Taffy' after I found that out, and now every order comes with a bag of Laffy Taffy. Game changer.

Although now my wife knows whether I ordered something for myself, or for the church, by the bag of candy left on the counter. So maybe that wasn't the *best*

OT a little, I keep hearing people praise the Squire series (Bass and Guitar), I'm curious, as I always considered them the poor cousin of the equivalent Fender offering. What makes them so much cheaper? Are they really as good as their counterparts? (yeah, I know, subjective). Are the electronics any different? (maybe this should be a new thread)

The last bag of candy I got from Sweetwater contained Bit O Honey. It pulled the crown off of my tooth and cost me more in dental work than the speaker I bought. So do I sue Bit O Honey, Sweetwater, FedEx and JBL?
