Hi man, sorry for a late reply but I missed this one earlier.
I own a 6 string set neck (walnut body, maple neck) Chronos with Nordstrand dual coils which I can split to singles. The jazz bass is definitely there, it's a slapping monster, and the back pick-up burp too.

Hey Lenart, have you posted pics here of your bass? I would like to see that..
green + orange burst? did I read that correcttly? that sounds pretty interesting! Overall I like #3 for its richness and "emerald" quality, and 1 for its contrast factor. Sergio does great work with the finishes, mine has a very light amber stain on the poplar, and it looks gorgeous!

This should be default video response for all those claims that neck through multi-laminated basses can't do slap tone well... (let alone 33") Sounds killin to me!

I don't worry about if something is bolt on or neck tru
it needs to sound good above all other variables, it's just that visually and ergonomicly neck tru is the sh%t
.If it's a well made bass I don't see why one would be more suitable for slapping then another,
they sould give all the nice tones an allround bassist wants.. right.
I sure did, more than once. Since it's such a great looking instrument I have no problem doing it again.
Agreed, I love W&T finishes. Also, you are correct about the green + orange burst. It's not your everyday combo, but considering the great aesthetic features of W&T design, I think this could be pulled off with a great success. I'll try to get someone to make a photoshoped picture of a zoid with that color combo.

Not so keen on that. Bass manufacturers always do this - produce a Jazz model for traditionalists. It's a bit predictable.

wow, very cool.. what are the pickups in this one?
Any W&T owners who have an SP2 circuit care to comment about how they like it? Have you done much tweaking with your freq. points?
I would ask this in the electronics forum, but it seems the SP2 is still a sleeper with the masses, W&T is one of the first builders to use the circuit with any regularity. I love it, but have been trying to get the frequency points dialed, with limited success. Dialing the internal points for my cabinets requires different settings than dialing it in for studio recording for example. Sometimes too many choices is a bad thing

First ,my bass "on live view" is thousand times far better than the picture ,mnot bizarre at all ..the light on that one got clearer on the body than the fretboard ..it is not like that ,there is "continuity" on the color.
Some students of mine did spend half of the lesson just toying around with that one , blabbering "gasps" and i could not stop them bringing them back to the concepts^^.
And there is it not an inlay ,but the same color than the body ,in a shape i designed
myself 1:1 . It costed me a bit more just for that ,as it involved a lot of experiments
with the colors to get that "defined" shape color but with a natural effect
(you actually SEE the wood under the lines,much like a natural "blur" on the wood).
It looks black from far ,and is Dark brown from close distance,with highly figured flame.
The drawing It's an overly-thought (^^) shape ,i
in fact it even helps to catch fastly some notes if you need (like sweep ,arpeggios taps or whatever) . ps: Last 2 "half" frets removable .

they are BOTH "Hybrid " , Haussel (derived from "Jazzbucker"):
one poles-row is Musicman- like ,other is double row Jazz.
Musicman rows placed in a way they are in '70 position ,and Switch S/s/P for each pickup.Intention was to get definition of 70's ,but "muscles" of MM .

Yes J., i 've tweaked immediately on my likings the trimpots,checking with professional headphones and so on.
I need them exactly as i want,like highs in a certain way as I use a lot of different techniques for my own fun ,plus some personal things
(like crossing slap - sweeping and "show-off" stuff..good to get jounger students interested and "excited" about lessons ;-) ).
So i tweaked in a way that highs sound good in many Pu configuration.
And bass ,in a way that i like it to boost always on ,"enriching" the sound without to be
overhelming or un-natural.
MIDS *i do that =
i take some very "busy" Mix ,better live stuff .I play along ,
and i tweak the trimpot/MIDS in a way that boosting that
the sound cut through the mix ,without rising volume .

REgarding the many choices im the Preamp J.
a not-requested advice:
I would tweak like "studio" the trimpots if i would be you ,and than to adapt the rest of the chain =amps or whatever .Because chain would be also ambient dependant ,and
what if you have to re-record something after a gig ,you have to take note of the settings ..annoying .An if gig is mdium sized,forget your sound by Pa guys..
I hear the sound changing whatever i plug a pedal or similar ,,so i tweak my clean sound ,then i rock on .
I would'nt lose my head on the settings after that afterwards ,except when tryng new strings maybe...PLAY the damn Thing Bro ^^ ,

Tried both styles ,and there are different but NT is not "superior" like sometime i hear as a recurring fable around.
Actually BT did fit me better , and also i have other 2 Nt,(one is a boutique tyoo ,an Aries 6er)
Not question of price as the BT or NT costs the same by them ,once it's done entirely by hand .

Beside that ,i "lurked" the project from them which is more "broad" oriented in terms of price ,that is quite interesting and personal,not the predictable one would think .Time will tell ,but as a general rule ,first i play ..then i speak..at least i do that.
Ergon:tried one on the street some days ago ,it was nice ,and in fact it will be better looking as i understand the little tweaks .Neck was very "fast" too.-

I meant "Bizarre" in a very positive way, thanks for the detailed description! It's great what they can do with the finnishes, I really thought of inlayed wood so thats a great job right there!

Yep Thank You Brams ..sorry did'nt want to look rude,my blame ..and loss in that.
I did receive some other photos ,you can check at the same link .
Maybe better but still not like it is in reality ,i assure you it's a beauty .
Now it looks a bit different as i did let them do some tweakes ,like 2 screws on the little ramp (ramp it's there for visual effect ,so tiny actually ,but i like to match anyway with pickup heights).
In the near future ,due to proximity to them ,could be that i will swap The ETS with a new bridge that's in development ,most for visuals and "originality" ,plus other minor not visible tweaks .
I'm very demanding , i ask what i doubt , but i "request" what i know ..

Forgot about FRETS :
smaller ones before to go in "mandolin" size ,low in the way you feel the fretboard ,and "faster" .
"Faster" because lower fret-profile helps (me) to press with the right amount of strenght the string (depends from style ,i tend to play very fast but also with "decision" ,hate the speedy and light sound on a bass). At more"extreme situations" ,can happen that you press unnecessarily more the string ..if your finger meets the fretboard sooner ,you get a bit of help in that .Training helps too off course-
I was debating if to go in madolin size ,really tempted but at the end i did'nt risk ,as i did try only one before .
If my pockets would be fuller ,i would have tried "mixed" frets experiment ..who knows
(like mandolin on higher frets..well THAT would be "bizzarre "..but i have still the sting about that ,though i was adviced to "not to do..")

Knobs as you see are woods and match the body .Weight about 4.60kg ,
the balance of the bass helps in feeling that as less weighting actually.
if the other not-Wt i have ,would be less weighting ,i would have the perfect couple.

Ultralites on headstock ,painted as you see to get a more "streamlined" visual effect ,
also completing the picture with the "sort of" a black/white F Key.Capo brass.
"STRICTLY BLACK" hair-tie added by me ,to block strings from ringing if i will ever need,
or to get a spare if i'll play a gig for a marriage or so..

It's the only 6er that sounds in slap as i like ;
the "bounce" sound in pops ,with just outboard compression engaged ,is what i envied in many videos or clips around in the years ,thinking about exotic chain or whatever .
The other 6ers' i have are "too clinical" or some say "sterile" in slap sounding.
Pleasant in fingerstyle ;my "pleasure" in that is hearing the "growl" in lower registers.
When trying the woods ,though initially starting from more exotiic combinations ,that growly ash/maple personal/liking factor moved me to that ,Bolt on "impact" choice also .
And sustain it's there ,more than one would need .
