You can’t recreate the spirit of a former time just by putting on a concert festival with the same name. The world has changed and people don’t think about or believe the things they used to.

Let the new generation create their own mythology, legends, and memes.

I’d be interested in seeing what they come up with.

The spirit of the original is non existent among the most of the artists that were slated to perform. It's good that this died on the vine.

I think a lot of people forget about the 30th anniversary Woodstock in 1999.
It was interesting that they made this follow up from 1994. I own the live CD from 94 where Primus played Those Damned Blue‐Collar Tweekers. Loved it!
Nine Inch Nails, RHCP, Metallica, etc put on a pretty crazy show. But what a mudfest!

25 years later...don’t know if they would sell a live CD, but it would probably be on YouTube. Here’s an idea...why don’t they talk to the creators of Bohemian Rhapsody and record the Festival live and stream it! Oh, my Millennial side is showing, apparently I’m one of the very first. I would have been sad if Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, Death from above 1979, maybe even Brand New decided to play this show. Oh the times have changed!

I enjoy watching many of the performances from 94 (and 69). It's something I've never had a chance to experience.

I was thinking that it was "we can't charge less than $xyz and be able to pay all of these artists. Coachella is charging about the same and their location isn't a dingy old racetrack. I can't see any affluent teen or twentysomething wanting to do both festivals, or Woodstock in a non-pot-legal state in lieu of Coachella in a pot-legal state. This was a dumb idea."

I live a few miles from the second Woodstock site. It was a miserable experience for the locals; had to show ID to drive on my street, my car got busted into, helicopters flying over the house every half hour all day and night, and the list goes on. The field where the actual concert was held was trashed, just one giant mud pit full of garbage and who knows what else. I was worried when they started to make noise about this one. Luckily it wasn’t going to happen here again. I’m sure the residents of the new location are breathing a sigh of relief. They should, they dodged a bullet.

I’m from a few miles away from the 99 site... Is that the one you are referring to? If so, we may be neighbors.
