Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

Yikes. I'm very interested in this, and still am, but I'm having power issues as it is. Is it going to come with its own wall-wart?

Yes, it will come with its own wall-wart.

The BeatBuddy is a powerful computer so it does require more power than your standard distortion or looper pedal.

I'm sure...I didn't mean to come off as critical. I certainly expected hundreds of mA, just was hoping it would be more in the <400 mA range that is friendly to 3rd party power supplies.

Most pedals don't have a CPU which draws a lot of power so they can run on less than 300mA (like the digitech jamman looper). The Boss power supply I have powering my pedal board has an output of 2Amps so it would be able to power the BeatBuddy plus at least another 4 pedals.

But if you have many other power hungry pedals, you'll want to use the BeatBuddy's dedicated power supply.

Any new news on when the BeatBuddy will be available?

How's development going?

We have completed all major hardware engineering! See the pic below for what goes into making a BeatBuddy.

We are currently tweaking the firmware and setting up our supply chain. We're getting close! Hopefully no more than a few weeks.

Thanks again for your patience and continued interest.

After tweaking the hardware, we have gotten the power requirement down to 300mA -- so it is the same as most single pedal loopers. Thought you'd like to know.

The BeatBuddy 2.0 has been completed!!!

Check out my first jam with it :-)

We are now full steam ahead with content production and making a new demo video for the crowdfunding campaign!

Our campaign should start in *around* two weeks. If you haven't already, sign up to our mailing list at myBeatBuddy.com to be notified when the campaign goes live. The earliest crowdfunding supporters will get the best prices :-)

If you're on Facebook, please Like our page -- facebook.com/mybeatbuddy -- we're posting more updates there.

And please tell your friends!

That's REALLY fantastic news for how this pedal will potentially fit into my setup. Thanks!

I got the e-mail. Prices were announced. It sounds like the crowdfunding campaign will be up within the week.

I wasn't aware you could stagger crowdfunding prices based on who is "first." It's kind of deviously clever.

Also, I've never been a part of crowdfunding before. Do you pay up front or later? In the event it doesn't reach its goal, what happens?

Seems to me I would be more likely to "tell my friends" if it was set price during this time period instead of set price up to this many units. More friends that know the worse my odds are for scoring one at a bargain price....just saying. This is completely rhetorical and theoretical because i only have two friends and I provide the percussion for both. Just what I needed, another conundrum.
