Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

We're going to investigate into making momentary compatible as well as latching. What would you say are a few high quality, yet inexpensive momentary dual footswitches?

I can't vouch for the quality of these switches, but here is what I found:

The Boss FS6 can be used as latching or non-latching, but does require a 9v battery:

The Rolls RP8 doesn't appear to need a battery:

From the UK, there's the cute little Vein-Tap "Skinny Little Twins":

- which can be found on eBay in the US:

I made my own. Very sturdy and compact. Got a small box with holes drilled and two momentary switches from here: Invalid Link Removed

Only $22 in parts / drilling / color.

If I end up getting the parts to build a latching version, I was thinking of buying a quantity to make some available for others.

I use a Digitech FS3X for my momentary switching needs. It has three switches, but when hooked up to a Boss GT-10B (which only requires a dual switch), it works fine...switch 1 and switch 2 work as you would expect, and switch 3 works like hitting both of them at the same time.

What do the toggle switches on the side do?

It would be great if I could simply mount a momentary switch directly into my pedalboard. For such a useful feature it really should have been incorporated into the footprint imo. Hang the fugly and the little extra cost.

Into the footprint of the Beat Buddy? I don't think there was room for a second switch in the current footprint. It's either a one-switch pedal or it is somewhat larger. I'm okay with what they went with.

Read my post again. I guess you never saw a tap modified RC-2. To have a tap button would not have required a huge increase in footprint.

I had already read your post a few times before and again now...it didn't make a ton of sense then or now when you refer to integrating it into your "pedalboard." You could have just answered my question instead of asking me to read it again.

Just because some other pedal can be modded to include an extra switch doesn't mean this one could. It's already the size of an oversized Boss pedal. They made a choice. There's always an argument for doing things differently, I suppose, but there's also an argument for doing what they did. And without at least seeing the pedal guts, none of us can really say what the consequences would be of doing what you suggest.

That looks sweet, and it's a great size. For our purposes, is a Invalid Link Removed the same as a latching switch? I don't see anything specifically described as a latching switch there.

Ohh boy... just got meeself a latching footswitch on amazon cuz I had a giftcard. Should I return it and wait until this thing is finished? I have no other use for it than for this pedal.

The latching footswitch will work. We're just looking into whether we can make it compatible with non-latching as well.

David,
First of all congratulations on such an innovative and overall amazing concept and product. I've followed the BeatBuddy for over a year now (thanks for the picks!). Please make this a possibility as I have a dual unlatching footswitch that would be PERFECT for the BeatBuddy (I use I with a Boss RC-2 which I plan to loop drums to simulate a percussionist, dual drumming, and even beatboxing since the BeatBuddy has a voice option.) Can't wait for next month!
