Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

You must have a great manufacturer to be adding stuff this late in the game. I too await with great anticipation. My foot switch arrived the other day, so I'll be ready to rock when BB arrives.
There always will be someone who say "I wish it had this" or "if only there was a way do do that..."
I hope this thing will make it into production. It may not have absolutely every feature possible.... It's still only a stomp box! If you need your performance to be absolutely perfect.... then get a band with a real drummer!

I look forward to one day getting a real drummer. In the mean time, I need to work on my chops. I believe this might be a good tool to help me do just that.

Given that we're halfway through March, is there any update on exactly when these are coming off the line? Obviously, the delivery estimate was April, but there was also the perk where you could select "first off the line" and get it in March. Is that going to happen? (I'm an April, not a March, but I'm curious nonetheless.)
Easy buddy! The first one's not even out yet! lol
(but hopefully there won't be a Mark II... hopefully they'll just keep updating the software for the first one!

The things that we're adding are all software related -- so we just need to update the firmware to add these features.

We're about to send out a delivery schedule update. But as a courtesy to you guys, the super fans, I thought I would announce it here first.
There's no easy way to say this, but the BeatBuddy will be late. The short story is that some of the components that we were told would be available on the open market are currently backlogged. We've been searching for these components for over a month and finally had to make the difficult decision to place an advance order in order to guarantee that we will get them. It was a difficult decision because the delivery timeline of these components delays our delivery schedule to mid-July -- but we couldn't continue to wait and hope to find the components on the open market. Like you guys, we need to KNOW that the BeatBuddy is on it's way.
I am deeply sorry about this. There is nothing that I want more than to get the BeatBuddy out to you guys as soon as possible.
As a small consolation, we'll be announcing some really cool new features soon -- I think you guys are really going to like them. We're going to make the BeatBuddy worth the wait.
Thanks for sticking with me through this journey. I won't let you down.

I can't say that I am surprised. There will always be delays with this kind of projects. If you just be open about this kind of delays (as you are) most people will understand. The waiting is hard because the BeatBuddy is such a cool product. Good luck with the production and keep us informed.
Well, I have to take a couple of weeks off in the summer, so I'll use some of the time to familiarise myself with the BB.
Due to the nature of startups, there was always some tiny possibility the product would simply never materialize at all. So, small slip - no problem !
I expect the guys on the firmware and support software sides of the team are glad to have a little relief in the pace, even if they are gloating that this time, for once, they are not the reason the release date slips. Someone once told me that product engineering is like being in a horse race and betting on yourself to come in next-to-last.
Component availability pipelines are always iffy things, especially for startups. I was involved in one, at the near-dawn of microprocessors. A new memory technology was just available and it was perfect for our product. Since it was new, it wasn't selling well, so it was pretty easy to negotiate a good price. However, it quickly gained popularity and the price rose beyond it 'introductory promotion' levels - and when production began in earnest, the manufacturer was eager to ship to the guys who were paying more. Us? Not so much...
The manufacturing process will be what it is. Please do not be tempted to cut corners and use what is available on short notice rather than what was engineered in. Take the opportunity to really wring out the firmware and support software. The downside of a highly anticipated product release is that you must get it right.

Well, as disappointed as I am...my biggest concern right now is that puts it dangerously close to when I'm probably going to be moving. I remember some talk about confirming shipping addresses prior to actual shipping. How is that going to be done?
No worries on the delay! Regardless I'm sure it's going to be an amazing asset to any pedalboard/set-up/system.
And being honest goes a LONG way in my book, you just re-affirmed me as a loyal customer!

I built up a couple of dual latching footswitches. I'm ready for it when it comes in [DEL]April[/DEL] July.
Would you be willing to make more, and how much?

That gives me some time to take singing lessons so I can make a neat little video. Oh, and also I need to get better at playing bass with my feet.

Must be the lighting - neither one is blue. One is black and the other is sparkle silver.
I'd be happy to build people some, although I can't compete price-wise with commercial offerings. At least you could pick a custom color, though. I could do it for $32 plus the shipping to get it to you. If enough people are interested, I can probably knock off a couple dollars since I can get a quantity discount on the parts. Anyone that's interested can PM me to discuss further so we don't derail this thread.
Dimensions of the box are 4.37" X 2.37" X 1.07". The switches add some height.
