Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

I'll just add my 2 cents.
Boss RC-20(XL) is a great looper option as well, but alas, no MIDI that I know of.
C'MON BEAT BUDDY (just to keep it on toipic!)

I've been looking at the Boss RC 300. It has MIDI, but it does not play nice with others.

According to what I have read, there is away around the issues. Here is a good forum thread regarding the issue and solution.

After reading this, I am going to work with my DAW quite a bit before I buy another looper.

Just want to toss an update in here, not as a derail, but to keep me in the loop (pun intended) with others here traveling the same path. An incredibly good intentioned/souled Talkbasser came across my other thread and offered me a Boomerang, to borrow indefinitely, that he had but never used. I have a sense he'd like to remain anonymous so I won't say who, but there are some really super cool people floating around these parts.

I've only had the chance to plug it in and see that it works. Which it does. Now I have to learn to use it. Downloaded the manual, read it, but felt it might just as well have been written in hebrew. I'm not good with this stuff, but this guy's generosity in turning the pedal over to me has added to my commitment to learn to use this well. Will watch every video ever posted on the use of the boomerang. Would really like to have a working knowledge of this, before the beat buddy arrives. It seems the capabilities of the 2 of these pedals together is going to be astounding. I'm gonna make it my musical project for the next few months. Hoping to post some vids, for sure.

Now where's my dang beat buddy !?!?!?! ????? And/or at least the software? I'm patient, especially now that I the boomerang to play with... but an update would be sweet.

The last update, as I understood it, was that they were hoping to ship last week, with this week as a fallback. To say I am getting antsy would be a tremendous understatement.

Good luck on the 'Rang! With my Infinity I've started to understand the basic functions but I still have to think pretty hard to understand the more complex ones, and there are many that I don't even know how to use yet. Like you, I can't wait to use it in combination with the Beat Buddy.

At this point a forum response would be a disappointment. I want that notification.

I'm a huge fan of the Boomerang. I started off with two different Boss loopers before I got a Boomerang Plus and now I have a Boomerang III. IMO, as long as you don't need to save loops, the Boomerang is the way to go.

It can be very deep; almost an instrument in itself. But, it doesn't have to be. To do simple loops in either serial or sync mode is pretty straight forward. IIRC, the videos Boomerang put out were very, very helpful. https://www.youtube.com/user/BoomerangMusicUSA/videos

Regarding using it with the BeatBuddy, I don't know what MIDI capabilities the Plus has. I'm not sure if the Plus will work with the BB. The III should work.

Good luck and PM me if you have any specific questions.

See Adam, you're giving Tool more fuel! If we were in a casino playing craps, he'd be the dude betting against the line / dont come. Haters gonna hate. ;)

Actually, my gf asked for my xmas list already...and this pedal is on it, so..............:spit:

Aww, dude... now I feel a LIL like a jerk! :) You're one of those "I'm on board but wont get my hopes up" types. You'll be jammin thru the holidays to some pedal-powered beats just like the rest of us! :D

^^ yes sir!

Ha, yes, Tool and I have had conversations both in this thread and through PM. He is rooting for the pedal but being glass-half-empty about its progress. Like a pre-2004 Red Sox fan.

Yea... I'm honor bound to eat some crow (maybe a veggie crow-substitute) if this thing isn't shipped in 17 weeks! If it does, all Tool has to do is eat his words! (less filling!)

I'm wicked excited because if the mandolin / violin player I just met want to work on stuff, this pedal will keep the practice / project groovin without cumbersome DAWs. If it doesn't ship, I'll just introduce the drummer I just met into the mix! BeatBuddy sure would be easier to transport.
