Hey David, I just wanted to offer a bit of encouragement! Home stretch homie! (At least for the first batch... taking over the pedal world has only just begun!)
Nevermind the nay-sayers! The world needs more people like you. And pedal boards need the Beat Buddy!
Thank you for working hard to make this device all it could be!
Hey David, I was wondering if the Beat Buddy will have a warranty and what sort of (hopefully unnecessary!) service and repair options will be available.
I'm deciding on which MIDI looper I want to spend twice as much on as the BB. Pretty much deciding between the Boomerang and the Infinity. Any particular reasons why you chose the Infinity?I don't know much about the RC-3, but I decided to go with a Pigtronix Infinity Looper for the MIDI capabilities. I think that you would really want MIDI sync in a Beat Buddy/looper combo.
Can't speak for Adam, but one of the big drawbacks for many folks with the Boomerang is that you can't save loops at all- it is meant as a live looping tool...I'm deciding on which MIDI looper I want to spend twice as much on as the BB. Anyone know if there are any other MIDI-capable loopers worth considering?

The 'Rang is definitely an amazing live looping tool! Being able to work with 4 independent loops gives you endless possibilities. I use mine embarrassingly little these days, but I've got lofty plans for it always happening in the back of my head! It's hard for me to start messing with it without hours flying by...AWESOME! Now I have GAS for the Boomerang. Didn't know that about the B'rang before, 'cause I've never looked into loopers in depth – that's not a drawback, that's a feature. Makes "live" looping ... well, more "live" like.
It records up to 35 minutes in mono or up to 9 minutes in stereo. I can't imagine needing longer than either of those in one song. For reference, if you were to make each of the 4 tracks equal length in stereo you'd have over two minutes per track. So just to play and fully replay one loop would take you over four minutes! Unless you are playing some spalling hour long ambient stuff I couldn't imagine making a 2 minute loop...Hmmmmmmm.... the 'Rang certainly looks cool, but I think I'm sold on the Infinity... mostly, the boomerang seems to have worryingly little record time, even for a live-loop-only pedal. The four separate loops is pretty cool though.... Maybe I'll end up getting both :S
Only 4.5 min in stereo at 48kHz. You still make a good point, though. I'm liking the 'Rang more and more, now! I'm torn!It records up to 35 minutes in mono or up to 9 minutes in stereo. Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I'll see what I can do on the "unlimited resources" front. To the extent that I've researched them both, they seem to have different strengths and weaknesses. With unlimited resources, getting both wouldn't be ridiculous!![]()
Yeah, so with two 'rangs (and nothing else), you can have synchronicity. You could presumably do the same with two infinities, just the clock source would have to be external (i.e., BeatBuddy!). Since I'll have a BeatBuddy, the first situation (two 'rangs and no clock) is not importantThe Infinity has MIDI in but not out, so it can take MIDI clock from another source (I plan to send MIDI clock from my Beat Buddy to the Infinity). I think the Rang has both in and out.
