I have one pedal. A Polytune. Everything else I need comes from the bass and a REDDI tube direct box. There's enough effects and pads going on with the average worship band already. I'd rather be the clean bottom end cutting through that soup, thank you. Just my style. Not everyone's. :smug:

2 different rigs, same setup: Bass > Polytune > Amp > REDDI > FOH

Occasionally I use a Radial Big Shot AB/Y if I want to split my signal. But rarely.

Is that mixed drivers i see in that cab? Jk. How does the eden sound with the Carvin? BTW I am a cab mixer and have been scolded for it.

I turned down the gain this am and turned up the master with the AGS off. To me it sounded better. I guess that it is a problem associated with me not taking it home. Now when I click on the AGS it is twice as loud as it was. So I guess it needs a lot more tweaking.

I usually run direct through various DIs in the churches I have played in. Have used a SansAmp Bass Driver/DI and PBDDI with fairly good results. I don't go for dirt, just a touch of tube warmth.
The mid scoopy thing of the SansAmp kind of buries the bass in the FOH mix, in my opinion.

I do have a Tone Hammer on order. Not really for dirt, but for the mid control and the ability to add just a touch of AGS. Later on I may get their TLC compressor if I think I need it. Not really a compressor fan, though.

I'll report back in a couple weeks on the TH.

Yeah the AGS isn't really meant to be stomped on as a separate channel , but rather you choose if you want it or not. When its off you have a clean preamp, and when it's on you get more "hair" the higher the gain is set. Also changes the overall sound. Check out some if the threads on the tone hammer on TB...when you understand how it works its a pretty great pedal (Eublet has some excellent reviews of it)

I love that too. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the music that I can forget that we're not putting on a concert, we're leading a worship service. The music, whatever style, is just a form of extended worship.

That said, I want my worship to be the best it can be which is why I love my MarkBass super booster.

We removed our bass amp a couple years ago because even if pulled completely out of the house mix, the amp was too loud and the sound guy didn't have any control over it, or so I was told. Now our bass setup is just a Fender PT-100 tuner into a SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI so each bass player can program his own tone settings. And now I feel like I'm in the position that someone on the first page of this thread mentioned where it feels like the bass isn't really loud enough for anyone to hear what I'm doing anyway.

I do have a pedal board running a Behringer wah>Line 6 M9>MXR M80. I haven't had this setup long enough to do much more than experimenting with some of the songs we do for youth services. I did use my wah in churchwide services when we did the below arrangement of "Victory in Jesus" a few times this spring.
