Worship Bass Pedalboards

I'm seriously considering getting one of these to replace my Ampeg SCR DI...
(I don't have one, so this is pure conjecture) But wouldn't you want to have some kind of EQ ability still besides just the OCSD if you're playing a passive bass? Or is the tone shaping of the OCSD sufficient? I typically like to boost my bass and mids a bit.

I thought so at first. But I've been using it as a pre and DI successfully with my '59 P Bass. YMMV, of course.

Ya, I'll run some sort of light overdrive through it like my Grizzly Bass (which has treble and mid cut knobs) or, I'm eyeing a Broughton Terraformer (which has treble, mid, and bass eq knobs).

I usually run pretty flat going into FOH.

The OCSD definitely works just fine without additional eq...doing my own "a/b" ("c/d/e" lol) testing with my board, I found the DG eq to improve it. (Full disclosure, I'm a long time fan of DG eq's in general...so there's that, too)

I play my basses in both passive and active, and prefer using multiple layers of OD. Imo, the OCSD can really tighten up/round off distortion nicely...which allows for more of it, in a worship setting...hope that makes sense. ;)

Daniel @ DSM accepted my offer, so I've got an OCSDv2 coming. Sold all my Markbass pedals this evening, Compressor, Chorus/Flanger and Super Booster. Not sure what I'm going to do with all this extra board space :)

Until I get the OCSD, I'll have to run thru the church's Tonehammer DI.

I'm up again on 3/25 ...

Congrats! I hope you enjoy it as much as many on here do.
Extra board space... hmmm... GAS should solve that in good time. ;)

Here's my setup this evening, with the Caleb Band, at a gathering for our church's seniors group J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth)

I'm gonna convert all you guys to a Pedaltrain Nano yet...

You may convert me to a P bass too...

I was just wondering what other bassist were playing for there worship band! I have a pedal board but recently took it apart and i'm going to start over and build a new pedal board! Show you pictures!!
I made this the other day. Had some red cedar and SY Pine laying around. Found the extra parts in my toolbox. It's not pretty, but functional.

simple and gets the job done.. :) mine's made from a cut up "trash" pallet from a plant in town...
Free wood is the best kind. Some random guy gave me about 100 board feet of lumber in one of those fancy wood stores. So I literally spent no extra money on that board. The black paint is actually spray on truck bedliner. Stays put. Gonna make another one next week. Just for kicks.
