I couldn't get any usable signal when plugging the middle (affected) 1/4" output jack into the front of either my B|Amp or Vanderkley Spartan amp heads...both very high quality heads. I know it's more common to use the unaffected 1/4" thru to the amp head, but it should work either way...and some pedal owners (on the DSM thread) have mentioned using the affected 1/4" into their amp heads, without any problem.

Fixed my OCSD! Turns out I had a bad 9v right angle/right angle power cable from my VL Mondo power brick to my OCSD. I was rewiring my board, and must have pulled a new/never used cable that got used (coincidentally) for the OCSD.

Changed out the cable, and now works perfectly...

@Rayjay — I had pm'd another OCSD user who suggested checking to see if there was a battery inside messing up the power supply, as he had this problem buying a used one. Hadn't thought of that! I checked, but mine had no battery in it (though it was a floor model...)

I forgot to check the headphone amp clarity...will do that this weekend.

I'll check on that. @ExaltBass might be on to something with the IEM impedance. I don't have a set of cans to reference. Can't wait to hear it from our stage though. Still haven't gotten the songs for this week, but we might not have a drummer (as was scheduled in Jan) but I'm always the last to find out and it's been hinted otherwise. Not sure if I'm on BG or DB.

I prefer the AOU over my AOm...seems a little quieter noise floor, given the same amount of OD breakup. The 6-band eq is really nice!

No idea...AOU arrived tonight. I've only spent time with the top controls...I really like what the distortion side provides in front of my always-on MBD-1! I played with the eq enough tonight to see that it's going to work VERY well with the OCSD for complete control of tone shaping...

I can also envision a small Nano board option, if the AOU cab sim works out: Wireless>SS>AOU :thumbsup:

What cables are you using on that? They look REALLY skinny!

What are folks using for ambient reverb/delay type stuff for laying down pads, if that's a thing? I'm thinking of something to use in the long, drawn out, slow vamp parts to add some ambient space, but not in a messy, too noisy way. I was thinking maybe of an EHX Freeze to lay down a note and play over, but it's not spacey or anything. Maybe a Super Ego, or maybe an EQD Dispatch Master. Maybe a Canyon?

I was talking to Sweetwater about the superego and the tech pointed me to Strymon's Big Sky Reverb. Check out the vids, there are a good many of them, pretty interesting. The bummer is that the pedal is close to 500 big ones. I think it might be what you're looking for. I would like to get one eventually.

I've had a few reverbs (HOF, T2, Nimbus, Polara, Blue Sky, and Avalanche Run...)

For ethereal, some EQD reverbs do a great job (just sold my Avalanche Run)...

The DigiTec Polara is THE best, most "natural" sounding reverb I've encountered. I'm currently using a Strymon Blue Sky, which (imo) can do both natural sounding and ethereal reverb...

Thanks. I did discover the EQD Afterneath today on Youtube, which sounds awesome. I thought about the Polara because I do have the Digitech Luxe, which I like a great deal as the most natural sounding chorus (or "un-chorus") that I have ever used.

I've been blown away by the Provident Anadime Bass Chorus. I used it at a revival last week where a lot of ambient was needed. It has an envelope around its sound that is like an awesome reverby exho chamber. Not real in your face, but very different than any other chorus I've heard. Add a little T2 and it goes to another depth :)

Very cool. I've never heard of that one before. Thanks. I do already have a chorus, but there's no such thing as too many pedals. At least that's what I keep telling my wife.

And on a side note, that T2 looks pretty intriguing. I've seen it on a few boards around the worship forum. Could certainly be good for some spacey, ambient reverb. Perhaps less subtle than a chorus, though.

It depends on your effect level. It can be very subtle.
