Initial review. Short answer: It was worth it. Long answer: At first tweaked a few knobs and could hear it has a broad range of options but have to say, I was a little concerned as it didn't appear to change the very existance of bass tones or have angelic voices streaming from it and immediately transport me to playing in the seventh heaven. So once my expectations were back to reality, I did some switching back and forth, on and off, with the OCSD and was liking what I was hearing. It really does clean up the sound and enhances the right things. Tried it with the Mesa DI in the path and not in the path. I like it better going into the Mesa pre-amp first. The 4x10 and 8x10 suggested settings are a great place to start. It's a keeper. Gives me headphone practice amp, with an aux in and sounds like it will do what it is supppose to do live. More on that story next week. I don't play this week so won't be able to try it out until next Sunday live.

I love practicing on my own, but I want a jam session for Jesus that's fun and open to see where the Spirit leads us. Any instrument, just jump in any time.

My favorite times have been basically acoustic small group centered on worship, or small youth group worship gathering in the home. Much easier to be in the moment and connect ...

I've played both and I was significantly underwhelmed by the vintage microtubes ultra, but my b7k is my always on pedal. It's drive is my idea of clean, and the options all deliver what I ask for.

Also, I came in late and ended up going back and reading all pages, and wow this is the best thread in all of TB. It's a compendium of everything you need to know, and didn't know you needed to know, when going live.

I've been a B7K user for 5+ years (split between 1st generation USA model then upgraded to an Ultra last year), and I've never tried the VMT series. But I love the B7K, it's the sound I want, even for worship. It does a pretty good "clean" with a nice EQ, but adding light drive is perfect for me. The mid-hump, darker sound of the VMT series just doesn't appeal to me.

I have a VMTD on my pedalboard and use that with a Streamliner 900 + Accugroove El Whappo at my home church. When I am able to take my rig subbing at another church, I take a Darkglass M900 and a pair of Accugroove cabs - the Tri-115 and the Tri-112. I like the VMTD for worship and the B3K for more rock-Oriented stuff. I guess you need to buy both...and I HIGHLY recommend the Super Symmetry also!

I recently picked up the VMT and am using it every week. Usually one or two songs. I keep it turned to the 80-90's side on the era dial for worship. It makes me think I would probably enjoy the B3K/B7K and the Alpha Omega. So many nice optons. Pricey they are, though.
