Worship Bass Pedalboards

don't people understand that because you can feel the bass it ISN'T a bad thing? i like the kick to hit you in the chest and the bass to rattle your feet!

Your congregation is young people, right? Mine is old predominantly and they complain about loud music, unfortunately.

I use small amounts of OD, Chorus and Octave from time to time, but usually I keep it clean.

Turbo Tuner ST-200 > Empress Compressor > Darkglass Electronics Microtubes B3K > Empress ParaEQ > Summit Audio TD-100 DI.

Our congregation is comprised of all ages, but I'd say the majority is younger to middle aged. They're pretty progressive in their tastes, but I still don't feel comfortable using more than a mild overdrive - full on fuzz would be totally out of place. I've tried envelope filters/choruses/octaves on various occasions in the past but they never really fit with our repertoire.

This is mine. Svt Di to the board...1/4 inch out to the church's ampeg rocket for a monitor if I need it.

I play with a worship band out of Austin, Texas.

My rig is bass>

Boss TU2>Sansamp VT>Markbass Compressore>Aphex Bass XCiter>

Markbass LMIII (to either a pair of SVT20AV's or a Schroeder 1210)

These will all be on a PT mini that's been modded with a T Rex Fuel Tank Jr on the bottom.

I haven't really used many effects (modulations, filters, etc)...but I'm looking to one or two more boxes on the PT mini...

We do a lot of hillsong style covers so if any one has any suggestions of what else would make for a good fit ...Don't want to spend mucho dinero...Thinking about maybe a Danelectro Fab Chorus and one other pedal in the mix.

IF I were to have a pedal board (don't see myself ever having effects, but this is hypothetical) I'd put a Tech21 VT Bass, my Korg Pitchblack tuner, and an electro-harmonix Bass Metaphors Compressor/EQ/Distortion Pedal with XLR out. That would do it for me, I bet.

I use a Boss GT6B because it gives me a DI for the board, EQ for
my passive basses, amp modelling if I so desire (I don't desire such atm and haven't for a while but useful on occasion) and then a whole host of useful sounds in 1 box, tuner is obvious but an oft over looked tool is the volume pedal, swells work great in worship and can be quite tonally complex when combined with OD, delay, reverb and chorus but it has gotta be used sensitively and subtly.

besides that the effects I sue most from my GT6B are crunchy OD for driving songs, chorus and reverb for melodic noodling in instrumental sections and volume pedal for swells and quieter sections

each to his own, I'd love a mini pedal train but I can't afford to build a train that has vol, OD, fuzz, compressor, EQ, rev/delay/chorus and then all the other little effects I use from time to time :(

Depending on the set I usually just go via a tuner to DI, with occasional Boss OD-3 overdrive for one part of a specific song. Once I've stuck all my guitar pedals down to the board I may just use the same board for bass as well and see what intersting sounds I can get out. Chances are I'll be playing clean mostly though.

I have the Planet Waves tuner into a Tech 21 Programmable Sansamp. Just got a Micro Synth so I'm going to use that to roll off my attack in some sections - might even use the Sub Wah I got in a trade here soon. Not too keen on overdrives/fuzz in church; just gets lost in the mix.
