Worship Bass Pedalboards

I hearken back to all the times people would be discussing large pedalboards on the forum, and you would post (and repost) the picture of your cute little pedalboard with just a tuner, DI, and Rolls. And now you've got a compressor! You've come so far! Lol. Just be careful. If you start researching preamps, there's no turning back. You'll think you're satisfied . . . until you're not anymore. And you'd be surprised what a person can convince themselves that they "need." I've gone from needing three pedals to needing about 12. Turn back now before it's too late! Save yourself! It's too late for the rest of us!

I was happy with the SLO... Then I talked myself into trying an Oracle. The oracle has reached it's new home and a SLO is on it's way back to me. The grass is not always greener.

As I once heard it said, "Sometimes the grass is always greener because it's covered with manure." Not saying either the SLO or Oracle are manure. Just an expression. But it certainly fits to the never ending search for the "perfect" tone. I hope someday I'll just be happy with what I have and stay that way.

true... I have a new Noble being built but it will have to be special to beat this setup right here. I’ve tried the SLO, Mesa Subway Plus, Minnow, REDDi, Kahn Tube DI, and others but the Starlifter is still my favorite. Really liked the minnow too but the Starlifter is just smoother and more diverse I think.

While I like Nordstrand products, the 15VAC and fact that it is only a clean preamp are what has kept my interest away. Luckily there are tones of options available and I have found the one that gives me what I want, and is compatible with the power supplies I have.

Don't go down the rabbit hole!!!

I'm still trying to figure out what a small or large pedalboard even is anymore. My current one is roughly 18x13 and it may get expanded in the near future to 24x13. That extra 6" makes all the difference with how I can cram what I want in there (that's what she said). Could I get away with just using one of the Line 6 do-it-all's and still sound good? Maybe, but I like an instant visual reference as to what is going on. I'm young and as techie as it gets, but diving into menus isn't my thing when it comes to pedals. I also run an amp on my board and that makes it a little more complicated to do in a compact setup just because of the wiring involved. Moving to a bigger board and a better case that it lives in would speed up setup and tear down for me. That's my justification, at least!

I like my Nano. Everything fits except the Radial Pro DI, which can just be loose. Or I can get a Nano+ again with just enough room for the DI.

I can see that as a good possibility.

TU-2 --> Rolls PM50S (IEM'S) --> Effectrode LA-1A Tube Compressor (they didn't have a pic) to the Radial Pro DI. Probably what I'll end up with. Waiting to buy my old Nano+ back from Dave. I may put a Cioks DC-7 under it to power it all. Right now I have to use the adapter for the Effectrode (12 volt) and for the tuner and Rolls (OneSpot) so it's only 2 things to plug in. The Cioks DC-7, adapter cable and mounting bracket are about $250. IDK, I suppose it's worth it to just have one thing to plug in and get consisten, clean power.

I doubt much will happen any time soon as gigging is months away.

The DC-7 falls in the "cry once, buy once" category. It is tough to spend over $200 on a boring power supply with so many cool "shinies" out there, but, you bite the bullet once and the rest of your days are pretty much set for pedalboard management.

I have multiple pedalboards, and wanted to be able to shift the LA-1A to another easily. I have changed my mind about that, so they are surplus now.

I have a special cable. My cable takes care of both my bass signal going to the tuner and my IEM's coming from the Rolls so it's advantageous to have them together.

I use it even with my own mix. It's cheap, simple and versatile. I don't even use some of it's features.

So your not getting nothing but the bass tone from the bass. No effect or the compressor in your mix?

Tuner --> comp --> DI/FOH
My IEM feed comes back via 1/4" TRS to the Rolls MOnitor Input. Phone out on the Rolls goes back up to my IEM's. We mix via our iphones.

Do you already have a Radial Pro DI?
If not, I have one brand new in box that I bought for church and never used..

Why Pro instead of JDI? Not the same animal.
