Worship Bass Pedalboards

A small non-phantom power option that I’ve heard good things about is the Shaw Direct Injection. Haven’t used it, almost bought one before I got a SLO again, but the people I know who have used them, love them. Will take 9-18v from your pedalboard power supply.

I think I’ve concluded I don’t need a preamp/DI. I am pretty happy with the tone control on my basses - especially the active 5’s, but even the simple tone on the P.

little update:

Sounded a little thin at first today, but once we dealt with some gain issues and bumped me up a bit, it was 100% better. Gain is such a huge deal.

Still kind of itch for a tube DI. The tubes in the LA-1A may have turned me a little. Not goiNg to go big, heavy tube amp or anything, but a nice tube DI for DI/IEM...if the compressor tubes did that much, will a tube DI do more or is the compressor enough?

Think I finally got them in the right order... just hope we play more than 4 songs when we come back to it!

It really depends on the design. I would say the LA-1A is definitely a "colored" sound, so most DIs are going to sound less colored. You should maybe just use your LA-1A and take advantage of the balanced out. Or, if that doesn't work for you, even a basic passive DI paired with the LA-1A would be a solid way to go.

This is my thinking. Stick with what’s working. I have a cable that lets me use the LA-1A as my DI (thanks Dave) and I still have everything on a Nano. I’ve done some recording with this using an old Apogee interface into GarageBand and I think it sounds awesome. My IEM’s sound way better than before as is FOH sound.

Anyone tried the Line 6 HX Stomp? I think I mentioned it before but don't remember. People seem to really like it for bass. Even though 2 posts earlier I said I'm fine. :woot:

Tuner, Rolls, HX Stomp and a DI. All on a Nano+.
Covers anything. Nice compressor and HP/LP filters built in.
Everything there for the once song that needs an envelope filter, or chorus, or for jazz gigs when I want a little reverb when I'm soloing.

I think anyone that’s knows you on here knew that you didn’t mean it lol. Brother you might as well go ahead and jump in with the preamp purchase as your not going to be happy until you do.

Haven't you been sining your LA-1A praises for a few pages now? I thought you were really happy with your tubey, analog setup and now its not even on your board and you're drooling over digital modeling? Seems like un-ending GAS?

Yep. Gotta keep that.
Bored. too much down time.
Better of spending $600+ on a preamp/DI. Better go back to that thread and see what I can't live without.
Or just run with this. Original plan is almost always the best, and most practical.

I’ve got one, but the rest of the board is not complete....need a great DI....want a Broughton HPF/LF, and a Cali76 Compressor.

You’re “circling” faster than usual...all on the same thread page! ;)

My home WiFi signal became marginal this week (freezing students), so drove to my classroom and held my DL class...from my classroom. While there, I brought along one bass, one EV50 PA tower, and my small pedalboard....

DI’d to the tower + bluetooth with my phone for music...then worked on two new jazz tunes (via Google Meet) with my student bass player!

Point (finally) being...the tube comp sounded soooo fantastic today—embrace your’s! If anything, get an RNDI (or use your ProDI) so you can use the LA-1A boost...and you’re good! Ya seriously got a great sounding setup now!

I just realized you have zero EQ or filtering dialed in on your Studio One...
