Ordered a white version myself (that’s @dwagner‘s fault
)... Thought I’d check one out, since it supposedly can be powered (like my LA-1A, except yellow cable and 9v) with a Cioks DC7...according to Cioks.

Should be fun...I’m never giving up my two small analog boards...

The HX Stomp is interesting. I don’t know that I would rush to replace my current stuff with it, but it’d be fun to play around with...especially with the focus on home studio and recording and stuff.

these must be your “light” and “heavy” tone boards? I also use the Microtubes Ultra as you might have seen a few posts back, but I haven’t gotten into anything like the LA-1A though. I think I’d get something like that more as a collectors or just for fun than an actual need to fill, but tubes are kinda cool
yea, sometimes I fill in as lead electric guitar on Sundays when our guy is out, so I needed a guitar rig. I own no electric guitar equipment besides a Tele so this was a great excuse to get one. A whole rig in a small box. I don’t want to go buy all this gear (amp, pedals, etc) I won’t use that much.
plus the bass possibilities for my regular duties and I was able to justify it.
let me know if you ever flip that Effectrode. I definitely have some Broughtons for you.
That’s more the purpose I bought it for...I’ve never been happier with my bass tone, than from those two analog pb’s...
I sold off most of my extra/accumulated analog modulation, delay and reverb pedals (that weren’t on my two boards)...to justify the Stomp direction. At least it should be fun at home with a looper!

Reading up on the HX Stomp...it appears to have “built in” DI capability, with a short 1/4” TRS > XLR-M cable (same method as LA-1A)...anybody with one, tried the DI at church?
Yep, worked just fine with the 1/4" to XLR cable. You can also move between Instrument and Line level depending on your needs.
Do you use the same “L/Mono” jack with the TRS>XLR-M cable?
My White HX Stomp arrived today...waiting till my Cioks Yellow cable arrives, to fire it up.
I’ll be curious about the DI thing as that’s where it looses me as an all in one device.

Yes - both the L&R can be used as balanced outs. I regularly run one side direct to XLR input on the PA and the other side to XLR input on a power amp - has worked great in multiple config & gigs. I always make sure everything is powered from the same circuit and haven’t had any ground issues - keep a DI in the bag just in case but haven’t needed it yet...
All these different colors are just one more temptation - I have the space grey but am loving how the white and red really pop! I also saw a custom blue sparkle that looked fun, too. I KNOW the sound is great - nice to see options for different colors, too!

Interesting. Not sure I'm ready to ditch my simple but great sounding TU-2 --> LA-1A on a Nano to go all digital. It is an interesting option...tuner, effects, DI, all in one...
Not ditching my analog mini “tube” board! Picked up the HXS to experiment with this summer...for home/church use, but possibly using with my school rock bands next year. Storing only a single pedal in a locked cabinet has real appeal.
I brought my entire sound system home (due to the school shutdown) so it will be interesting to compare my analog pb, Berg HP amp (DI’d band use this year) and the HXS...

The hxs has killed all gas for any analog and or tube preamps. Add a midi controller and expression pedal, and I’d seriously be fine. But my h9 is perfect for pitch and reverbs(the little I need it) cog octave and good old Strymon El’capistan just because I had space for it. But hxs can be just a simple preamp solution, then make presets for every instrument and easy access. Oh the bliss...
